So I'm riding my way to Thunderbluff on the flight path from Moonglade, about to get my level 69 skills. Kenpachi sorta took a little break, although I did find another interesting aspect I can add to his arsenal :) Anyhow, I made the decision to get my alt druid to 70 before the expansion hits, and based on leveling, I think I picked the wrong class to play. The druid is so versatile, just like my EQ shammy, so most likely I will use the druid as my main come the expansion, and have Kenpachi as an alt. I'd still like to release a video for Kenpachi, just getting my druid ready. After that, I'll give a run on his new arsenal to see how well it works, recording too! |

So its been awhile since my last blog entry, real life gets busy sometimes, but some good news. I've finally configured my UI to match the proper recording resolution, since im going from 1920 x 1200 to 1280 x 1024. I realize the expansion is a few months away, but I'd like to create a PVP video before then, so in the next few weeks, I'll be recording clips to create my very first video! To give you and inside scoop to what you might see, I've posted some old screenshots before the 2.4 patch. Click read more to view them. |

WoW: Season 4 Around The Corner |

So from reading various wow sites, it's expected that Season 4 will hit around June and July, maybe longer if they don’t want to interrupt Blizzards Arena Tournament. So I have finally finished up grinding my Shattered Sun Offensive reputation just from doing dailys to get the neck piece, Shattered Sun Pendant of Resolve. Finally, I was able to get some expertise stats to my gear, and a bonus with me being exalted in Scyer reputation, so it procs +100 expertise for 10 secs, not bad at all. I believe with the proc, I get a bonus of -7.5% to dodge and parry, and if you learned the mechanics of how melee works in WoW, it’s a significant bonus to move them off the melee table. Search on wowwiki if you have no idea how melee mechanics work. Anyhow, my plans for playing in S3 sort of fell through. People began to lose interest after playing through Season 1 and 2, which I understand. As people get closer to the 2k rating, competition is heavy and 1 single mistake can bring your team down, and if this continues to repeat itself, then the game isn’t fun anymore. But as long as there is still AV, I can still enjoy PVP in the battlegrounds. So since my reputation is done, you will start to see me more in the BGs, then maybe I can start recording some pvp action for a video, so you can finally see what I see. Until next time, sayonara! |

My love for procs started when Everquest Shamans received a new spell called “Spirit of the Panther”, which basically was a short timed buff that proc a 400 damage spell, and the proc rate was crazy high, it would go off every few seconds, and was also crittable. At first, they let the buff to be castable on anyone, so I remember when the spell was first release, my guild was at the final boss of Uqua, and we pretty much killed him in half the time of our normal kill, just cause of this one spell! It was later nerfed to group only, but it still remains one of the best spells of all time. Anyhow, here are my analysis on different enchant procs and a few items that are able to produce a proc. I wish Blizzard would give us additional trinket slots to use, there are so many useful trinket to mix and match with, but with only 2 available slots, a lot of these other trinkets rot in the bank, 2 more extra trinket slots please! Also remove the 30 sec global cooldown too. |

Recently I’ve had the chance to run some test with Soullesone, a warrior friend of mine equipped with S3 sword. To my findings, the resilience rating overwhelms my Darkmoon Card: Wrath, giving me those unlucky non crit strings and without crits, my flurry it not constantly up. I’d lose to him having under half HP, but both wars were deeply affected with lackluster crit strings. Given this state, there was no way I can take down an equally geared warrior in a one-on-one situation. But the game wasn’t meant to be played dueling, and that’s why I feel my character shines in group action. Previously, when I played as a 2H warrior during arena, I played as a 1 minded warrior, kill your intended target or you fail. I would need to conserve rage for the timed burst, and there didn’t seem like a means to help out my teammates except for the occasional hamstring. |

When patch 2.3 hit, fury warriors lost their Deathwish with a Sweeping Strikes (SS) swap. SS was also buffed to 10secs along with 10 hits, plus, Whirlwind strikes with both weapons, perhaps one of the reasons to keep fury wars from pulling their hairs out for the loss of death wish. Unlike most of the warriors, the implemented changes seem to highly benefit me. They seriously need to do something about Endless Rage, specing that deep into arms, you lose out on other necessary talents. Rampage was just annoying to refresh every 30 secs, it's bad enough we have to constantly do it for our shouts.

So I been a bit busy with real life, new dog etc, things are finally starting to settle down. Anyhow, I finally got ahold of my 60th Badge of Justice, to purchase Chain of Unleash Rage. Such a grind for badges, I've decide to just stick with the gear I have now, seems to be doing alright. My focus in WoW has always been PVP, I spent my raiding days playing Everquest, nothing like 80-100 people raids. But now, I find my enjoyment out playing and destroying others, therefore the guild will be a PVP guild for now. As 2.4 hits, they will introduce again group AVs, now the real fun begins. I've always wanted to lead a 40man AV of my own, not with PUGs, nows my chance. So if your interested in some pvp action, group BGs and Arena, please register on the forums and apply, or if you are already in a guild, but would still like to PVP with us, introduce yourself in the WoW section (I'll create a post for Kaizokuo Allies). I'll setup a chat channel for non-guild members where our communcations can take place. Now lets talk Kenpachi shall we.
Brief History No, I didn't setup the my warrior to prove the whole 2H vs dw MS debate, his fate was already decided before the release of the Burning Crusade, yup, you heard that right. You see, I am one of the fortunate ones to recieve 2 items, (1 low drop rate and 1 very very very low drop rate) from BRD within the same week. Ironfoe and Hand of Justice, sorry to Aaron for outrolling him twice, but those items were meant to be mine =p So with these 2 items, I saw what they were capable of, those procs of extra attacks (I love procs btw), spent many hours grinding BGs when they release High Warlord gear for honor. Why not play a shaman then for windfury? I played a shaman in EQ, even though not quite similar play styles, didn't want to be another shaman for some reason. Fast forward to almost release of expansion, when information of new items in game are being revealed. How was I to ever replace my precious Ironfoe I asked myself, until my eyes catch ahold of a 2.6 speed sword, Blinkstrike, with a extra attack proc, Ironfoe Version 2. I knew what I was going to do.
So by the time I hit 70, I had enough gold from questing to purchase one, which later turned into wanting my second one. The dual Blinks were ok at the time, wearing blues and greens, but I know it had more potential. Thus started the grind for epics, playing most of Season 2 arena, and now I am at a point where I am happy with the gear I have, and the potential of my setup is clearly visible. Just ask the Alliances in some of the screenshots I have posted how fun it was to have me in their BGs. This concludes my warrior's history. |

Purpose of this blog: To truely see if a dual wielding MS spec warrior is viable in Arena. "WHY! Its been shown on the warrior forum how it seriously fails!" Yea, I've read the numerous forum post filled with laughter. "Try using a 2hander you noob!" I've been using the Merciless 2H sword throughout the 2nd half of Season 2. Although it was great seeing those big number crits, the class felt boring to play. Probably due to the slow rage gains a warrior gets from using a 2H, which limits the amount of skills one can use, because your saving that rage for when your team calls burst on a target. I remember a few times when there was a hairline of health left in target, but no rage left to finish him off. So here is the deal, IF there was someone capable of pulling this off, I believe its me! I am recruiting an Arena team for 5s (Sargeras Server), only requirements is that I would much prefer someone full Season 2 gear, but if you think you got what it takes, I'm open to hear your story. I have a set team in mind, but I don't mind trying other setups too. All class are open to the team, but I'd love to have one of the following: Druids (Never played with one on a team but I've seen what you can do, bastards!) Resto Shaman Ele Shaman Yes, I know there will be many questions, but its late and I want to sleep =p I will provide more comments on my spec/gear etc as I'm still need a piece or two to complete my gear. Check back at a later date! |
